How many of us go through life making it all about what we possess and what we own—then trying to gain rank or status off of those material possessions? Don’t you realize that the moment your life is over, those things will no longer matter? Sure you can argue “since life is so short why not waste away my moneys and gain all I can until my life ends because I can’t take them with me?”— Well Luke clearly reads that life isn’t measured by how much you own..it’s so much more. It’s about what you can do for others and ultimately what you can do for God.. It’s isn’t about us, period. We as Gods people are an extension of his reach.. our hands are His {our feet, voice etc.} Rather than reaching for possessions and things you can only temporarily hold onto, lets reach for the lost, like we’ve been called to do.
